The Doctoral Programs in Information Management (IM) is a joint initiative of eight major Dutch universities that aims to capitalize on economies of scope associated with IM/IS doctorate education and enhances the overall research capacity of its academic members. The program is designed with a commitment to promote leading edge research and in conjunction with its member's desire to enhance management sciences-oriented doctoral education.

Objectives and Scope
  • Sharing resources to run and manage a first-rate and worldwide-recognized PhD program in Information Management.
  • Promoting a strong brand of quality through a broad professional training and an emphasis on socialization in the relevant IS communities.
  • Cultivating a selective program that yields graduates who can get desirable jobs in both the academic and professional sectors.
  • Nurturing a community of MIS scholars that is conducive to the pursuit of knowledge and world benefit.
  • Developing an authoritative voice regarding IM doctoral education and the IM discipline in general. The program is designed to support PhD students of consortium members in the completion of their doctoral training. Students are also required to obtain a PhD agreement with one of the members.
